Overview
Due to a resignation of one of our Members to take up a Trustee role, we are seeking a new Member for the Trust. Note that the responsibilities of Members are different from the responsibilities of Governors and Trustees. More details about the role of Member are at https://www.nga.org.uk/knowledge-centre/the-role-of-members-in-an-academy-trust/ Members should have held senior professional roles in an executive or non-executive capacity. This may be in the public or private sector, and prior experience in Education is not a prerequisite. Candidates should have an understanding about the governance structures of a Multi-Academy Trust, and understand the roles of Executive leaders, Governors, Trustees and Members. There is a limited time commitment associated with this role. There are two formal meetings per year which typically last approximately two hours, normally one meeting is held in person (in Sheffield) and the other online. There are occasional ad-hoc meetings usually relating to appointment of new Trustees or Members. Members are expected to keep themselves informed on the operation of the Trust by reading the Annual Report and other papers prepared by the Board of Trustees.
